K-M Concessions and Service Systems Associates are dedicated to providing high quality products, purveyed in a professional and efficient manner. Because the average Zoo and Aquarium visitor can spend up to 50% of their stay at a food concession, gift shop or restroom, value pricing and quality service play a major role in determining their overall perception of your institution. We believe that a positive experience can best be achieved through fast, courteous service and a reasonable pricing structure.

K-M Concessions, Inc. was formed in 1971, based on a "hand shake" agreement with then Denver Broncos coach Lou Saban to sell programs, souvenirs, and provide press box catering at Denver's Mile High Stadium. This hand shake agreement lasted 23 years! In 1973, K-M secured the visitor service contract at the Denver Zoo, and continues to provide these services today. These include: retail gift shops, concessions and cafeteria style service, full service catering, ride operation, and janitorial services. The owner of K-M Concessions is T. Kevin McNicholas, President and Chief Executive Officer.

In response to demand from other Zoos around the country, Kevin formed Service Systems Associates (SSA) as a sister company to K-M, with business partner Timothy Brantley. They now operate 24 Zoo/Aquarium/Aviary/Botanical accounts. The owners of Service Systems Associates are: T. Kevin McNicholas, President and Chief Executive Officer; and Timothy L. Brantley, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Together these individuals have more than Sixty years experience in food service and merchandising management. Over fifty of those years are directly related to the Zoo, Aquarium and the Botanical Garden industry.

Our companies were built on the integrity of a hand shake. These ideals are just as important to us today as they were thirty years ago. We believe that a visitor's experience at a concession or gift shop plays a major role in determining their overall perception of the attraction. We also believe that a positive experience can best be achieved through fast, courteous service and a reasonable pricing structure.
